SANTA ANA, Calif. – Nov. 26, 2018 – Orange County’s Credit Union, a financial institution dedicated to providing simple banking for people, not for profit, launches its third annual holiday toy drive to benefit local charities in the community.   From now through the end of November into December, all ten of the Credit Union’s branches are openly receiving new, unwrapped toys. This year, the Credit Union hopes to gather 500 toys through Member and Associate donations. SANTA ANA, Calif. – Nov. 15, 2018 – Orange County’s Credit Union in Santa Ana was among those honored at this year’s California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues’ REACH Conference. The Credit Union received the California Advocate Credit Union of the Year Award during the annual meeting and convention for the Ontario, Calif.-based trade association for the two states, held Nov. 5–9 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif. Orange County’s Credit Union was recognized for being highly involved with the Leagues’ advocacy efforts, including instilling the value and importance of participating in local, state, and federal government affairs. ORANGE, Calif. – Oct. 17 2018 – Credit Unions for Kids, a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions and credit union partners engaged in fundraising activities for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, recently announced a commitment to raise $5 million in five years for CHOC Children’s. In recognition of the pledge and history of support, CHOC is naming a new space the Credit Unions for Kids Community Engagement Center.   Located in the CHOC Children’s Foundation office, set to open in January 2019, the center will accommodate approximately 80 people for lectures, meetings, training programs, and receptions. It will feature state-of-the-art audiovisual and conferencing technologies, and moveable furnishings to support multiple room configurations. SANTA ANA, Calif. – Jul 27, 2018 – Orange County’s Credit Union offers an annual program to provide scholarships to its eligible members who have earned good grades and committed themselves to giving back to the local community. This year, five out of 26 applicants were chosen to receive $500, each based on essays, weighted objective criteria, academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, and personal goals. Applicants were also required to provide SAT scores, ACT scores, letters of recommendation, and a resume. SANTA ANA, Calif. – Nov. 27, 2017 – Orange County’s Credit Union, a Santa Ana-based financial services provider with more than 100,000 Members, is rolling out the “Bite of Reality” program, founded by the Richard Miles Johnson Foundation. In partnership with local youth organizations, the Credit Union is hoping to equip high school and college students with the skills to promote a successful financial future. This complimentary program is dedicated to teaching teens real-world skills that they may not receive otherwise in traditional school settings.
