Orange County’s Credit Union Wins 2018 Excellence in Corporate Business Award
Long Beach team involved in local initiatives throughout the city since 2003, including financial education workshops, tree plantings, and neighborhood cleanups

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Dec. 11, 2018Orange County’s Credit Union was honored at the 21st Annual Nuestra Imagen Awards as the 2018 Excellence In Corporate Business recipient. The award specifically highlighted Orange County’s Credit Union for its commitment to the Long Beach community.

Orange County’s Credit Union was recognized for their efforts in the Long Beach community and its residents. Since 2003, the Long Beach team has been actively involved in local initiatives to enhance the quality of life throughout the city. In the last five years, the Credit Union has hosted 51 financial education workshops and participated in 174 community events including naturalization workshops, tree plantings, and neighborhood cleanups. Thus far in 2018, they’ve contributed over 350 volunteer hours with community partners and small organizations that work toward a vision of strengthening the Long Beach community.

Nuestra Imagen Gala Awards is an annual dinner and fundraiser presented by Centro C.H.A. to honor notable individuals and businesses that exemplify excellence in leadership through revitalizing neighborhoods, places and businesses. As a result, these people and businesses make Long Beach a safer, healthier and more vibrant place to live, work, and play. Proceeds from the event will further the organization’s mission to provide quality programing to improve the lives of low-income youth and families through civic engagement, higher education, and workforce development services, while promoting beautiful communities throughout Long Beach.
