How We Protect You

We work hard to protect your information and your accounts with us. We require you to sign up with before you can see your account information on the site, in the OCCU Mobile app, or on the OCCU Mobile website.

Encrypting Your Information

We use industry standard encryption to protect your personal information such as your user name, password and account information when it travels over the Internet. You can be sure your information is encrypted when the Internet address starts with “https://” and a lock symbol is shown in your web browser.

Our mobile applications use secure technology to protect you and your financial information. Some mobile features will be unavailable on devices that have been jailbroken, rooted or contain malicious software.

Social Security Number Policy

We collect Social Security numbers to help establish, maintain and service our Members’ accounts in the normal course of business and as required by law.  We use reasonable measures to protect and limit access to Social Security numbers, and to prohibit their unlawful disclosure.

Managing Associate Conduct

The Credit Union’s ethics policy expresses our absolute commitment to integrity, our related organizational values and ethical standards, and the associated business conduct we expect from all our employees. The policy includes specific guidelines about how Credit Union Associates should safeguard confidential information, including Member data. In general, these guidelines limit our Associates’ access to confidential information, and restrict how we use and disclose information for specifically authorized processes and transactions. If you or we determine that any of our Associates have violated the policy, we’ll take immediate corrective action.

Verifying Our Practices

We regularly review our operations and business practices to make sure they comply with the organizational policies and procedures we’ve created to protect confidential information.

Knowing Your Recourse

Please contact us if you believe we haven’t complied with the U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice or our Online Privacy Policy regarding how we use personal information about you that we collect over the Internet, or if you believe we’ve given you inaccurate information.

In addition to our strict authentication procedures, we also monitor accounts for abnormal transaction behaviors to help fraud mitigation. We keep you safe when you use Online Banking.

Protecting Your Information In Online Forms

We encrypt the messages you send to us or we send to you through secure messaging in our online system. If you send us messages through other sources, they might not be secure unless we tell you before you send your information that we’ve put security measures in place. That’s why we ask you not to send us confidential information, such as your Social Security number or account numbers, through unsecured email, text or other messaging systems. Instead, please use our secure messaging system or send the information to us through the US mail, contact us by phone or visit one of our branches.

Linking To Other Companies’ Websites

We aren’t responsible for the online security practices of non-OCCU companies we link to from our websites and apps. In most cases, we link to these non-OCCU websites only to help you find more information about topics that interest you.

When you choose one of these links, we’ll warn you that you’re leaving and going to a site that might use different privacy policies and security standards than we do.
